{earthy photo by jamie}

Tomorrow is Earth Day and, even though I can't exactly unplug at work, I will be unplugging my laptop and (gulp) TV* while I'm home. I need to catch up on this month's business book club book (yes, book club...I'm a big dork) anyway.

*Except I forgot it was the Project Runway finale tonight! Gah! What to do?

According to this hand dandy chart my man is either Very Trustworthy or Unsavory borderline Threatening.

hubba hubba. That's all I have to say about Maslo Design.

These photographs by Jacques Olivar are STUNNING. And kind of frightening. I love that.

A Little Plot of Land

{via Ikea}

Both houses in our little complex are soon to be unoccupied* so I plan to set up our side yard before anyone new moves in. Our old neighbor would let her little dog have run of the yard and wouldn't clean up after it. We never felt quite comfortable enough to entertain outside. I'm setting some rules now that we are the "senior" tenants. I have been dreaming of cafe lights, bistro chairs and potted plants. Just in time for summer!

*If you or anyone you know needs a house in San Diego please move in! I don't want weird neighbors!

Monday, April 12

This weekend...was crazy...in a good way. What started as, I thought, a visit from a friend for work turned into a surprise bachelorette party here! It was awesome but ended WAY too soon. Then on Sunday we drove up to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl Flea Market. We had NO idea what to expect and were quite overwhelmed by how much stuff is there. Next time we'll definitely borrow a truck because, since it was the end of the day and it started raining, some guy tried to sell us a mint mid-century credenza/record player for $80! We ended up getting a sweet painting to keep Brigitte company for $10 and a milk glass vase. Then we headed over to Gold Bug and I found the sweetest little gold woodpecker skull necklace. I know it sounds weird but I had to have it! I wish I could find the designer online. Before we left we stopped for some champagne and yummy treats at Pop Champagne & Dessert Bar (I recommend the sparking hibiscus!).

wow.

Thank you, desire to inspire, for including my little blog in your Easter reading. There are only a handful of design blogs that I started reading many moons ago before I started a+i that I STILL continue to read and desire to inspire is one of them.

New project: steal all of Captain's shirts and cut the sh*t out of them.

Getaway to Heaven

My line of credit increased AND this 6-night Ireland vacation for $499 popped up on Travelzoo in the same week. Coincidence? I think not. Captain disagrees (when did he become so practical!?).

Courier Delivers to my {OCD} Heart

Ever since my friend sent me this link about the new Microsoft "Secret Tablet" - Courier - I have come up with new reasons why I need it in my life everyday! There are so many projects I could create and ideas I could organize. Seriously, Microsoft, if you need people to do a little pre-launch testing I am your girl!

This girl's voice puts me to sleep but look how COOL this thing is! I want!

I always say that I can't wait to be an old(er) lady and get away with wearing whatever the hell I want. Advanced Style is full of awesome inspiration for the golden years. Oh, and I'm dead serious here. I think these folks are stunning!

OK, this flower crown thing is just getting out of hand. I didn't even know this was a trend but the past week I have been BOMBarded. I was planning on tying some flowers together to wear on my head for the wedding but if I see another dang high-fashion "hippie" I'm going to scream.
