I have decided to start a new series. There are so many things I want to accomplish in this little life of mine. Sometimes it seems there just isn't enough time to do them all. Someday I'll bore you with that very long list but for now here is just one item. Since I was fourteen I have dreamed of having a little boutique/bakery to call my own. Growing up, I would imagine in my head every little detail of the interior. There would be a place to sit and listen to records, a place for work by independent artists and a little place for my baking. Though the decor has changed over the years the basic concept has not. I still have a long ways to go before I can make that a reality but I know someday I will get there. For now, here is a little spot to keep inspiration for the shop. If I had a shop...it would look a little something like

What doesn't Moomah Cafe do? I'm not really sure.
Doesn't that sound nice? It's a place for little kids and big kids to bond, create and be together. It's not very often one spot gets "Best coffee" from the NY Times and Best playspace" from New York Magazine!

I love it too. Very much. It was just helpful to me when I put that together. "Ahhhh." I said, "Now I know the how."
What the what? That's crazy! Most of the business owners that I know were able to start up because someone else was able to support them. I have yet to meet someone who owns a small business and doesn't have a rich _________. This concept makes me WILDLY depressed since I do not have financial support from anyone but myself but I'll figure it out!
ReplyDeleteEmilia...it's really cool to see you creating a virtual visualisation of your boutique bakery!! I'm sure one day you will make it happen... I know the feeling. I've been creating a vison of my beachside cafe, arty, acoustic music house since I don't know when... Now...I at least live by the sea... I have my 'virtual' beachside retreat at www.acousticwavecafe.co.uk which is an offshoot of our boutique media & ents biz... and I had my first 'live event' where the little cafe came to life in a seaside bothy! The next one is scheduled for next month on our ground floor... I guess you can't make it? We're based on Scotland's east coast! But when our creative spaces become permanent bricks & mortar, perhaps we can visit each other ?? Meanwhile, I'll continue to enjoy browsing your blog! :)
