56.

As you read this I am driving with the Captain to Big Sur. We are off for a weekend of being consumed by love and nature. We have been together for four years yet this is the first vacation we have ever taken together that did not involve visiting parents/friends (I am not counting the days when we lived 7 hours apart and would meet half way for a weekend rendezvous - ooh la la). I will be back Tuesday refreshed and hopefully not eaten by a bear.

This Young House

I'm loving the cute couple behind "this young house" and their fab design style. Check out these before and after photos:

Den

I'm totally jealous that they are my age (OK, a little younger even) and own a home. Not only that but it's an incredibly stylish home. No fair. At least they were nice enough to start this little blog for us apartment dwellers to use as inspiration when we finally settle down.

The Selby Couples

Whenever I need some house inspirtation I head over to The Selby. We just don't have quite the same aesthetic as Elle Decor or even Domino (R.I.P.). Don't get me wrong I would kill to be able to live in some of the homes those magazines feature but the objects (aka crap) that Captain and I have collected just don't seem to fit quite into that pretty, little design mold. That's where The Selby couples come in. They are my favorite part of that site. I love seeing how people have combined their possessions and displayed their collections. Plus I love "love" and nothing says "I love you" quite more than compromising in the home decor department.

Milla Forever

I have had a super big girl crush on Milla Jovovich since Dazed and Confused so I was happy to see her in the T Magazine looking as gorgeous as ever.

SMittens*

I do not miss waking up to three feet of east coast snow but I do love and miss me some winter accessories. I still wear scarfs to work almost every day (even in 60 degree weather) but I don't ever get to pull out a pair of cozy, comfy mittens.

*I am really sorry about the lame-0 title. I am so sick of the word smitten and think it should be retired. This is the last time I will say it, I swear.

Summer Camp Collections

I'm enjoying the simplicity of the current Spring collections from Dace and Cabbages and Roses. These are clothes to wear outside in gardens, in fields, by the ocean. Clothes meant to get dirty in, to work in and to play in. I'm thinking summer camp, coffee on my parents back porch and road trips in August.

John Gruen

My amazing sister, who really should have her own blog because she has always been and will always be the cooler and craftier sister, sent me over to the website of photographer John Gruen. These crisp, clean interiors are just wanted I needed to calm myself on this Monday morning.

Sweet Sweet Spectra

I'm loving my "new" Polaroid Spectra AF. I never knew I could make a Polaroid that look like this!

Help Me Hump Day

I'm feeling the need for some inspiration today. Lucky me, I saw this photo at Once Wed and my lovely, Kristy, sent me this link.

Donna Karen is Stalking Me

DKNY is ripping off my style. Seriously, replace the t-shirt with a leotard (yes, I AM wearing a leotard to work and, yes, I am a grown woman, thank you very much) and the dingy, hole-ridden mess that is my favorite cardigan and you have my work outfit today (sans leather glovelettes - I need me some of those).

Sweetheart Necklace

I promise to get back to regular posting soon after I get some self-promos in here. Another new necklace has been added to the shop. The sweetheart pendant is paired with silk ribbon (you pick red, aqua, purple or beige) and is only $10. I can also do custom words on the square pendants. Sterling silver chains to be added soon! Thanks!

New in Shop

I have added some more things to the shop recently. The "Rara Avis" necklace you might remember and the new Love Squared necklace. Both are sterling silver and hand-stamped. Keep in mind, also, that I LOOOOOVE to do custom orders and can "square" any four letter word or stamp any phrase you wish.
I would love for you to stop by!

Happy Friday Flowers

These were waiting for me Friday night when I got home from work at 11pm. I have a good captain.

I Want to Go to There

All I want for Valentine's Day is for the captain to sleep in with me.

Today We Make Out

Lovin' the free Kate Spade cards

The New (and Improved?) Pheonix

I don't know what y'all are complaining about. I think this new version, although I'm convinced it's an act, of Joaquin Phoenix is hotter and way more hilarious than the old one! Blame it on my love for the beard but the way he keeps this character up for the whole interview is genius.

UPDATE: Captain just informed me that it is, in fact, an act of sorts for an upcoming project by Casey Affleck. So. Excited.

Collected and Collaged

Not only am I dying over her collections but now I find she makes collages too! Out of her Flickr favorites. Swoon.

What a View

I have always had a weird thing for collages and collections. When I was little I would glue little pieces of paper all over my bedroom door. Recently, I get excited by collections of random objects meticulously arranged on white backgrounds. The collections by A View To are crazy good.

Wildlife + Trampolines = Magic

Why, oh, why do I adore animals on trampolines so much? I love the moment when mr. fox here first discovers the bounce. This is almost better than the boxer.

Sponsor Post: The Peach

You may have noticed the cute as a button button in the right hand column over there. Let me introduce you to our new sponsor - The Peach. I am really excited to have The Peach handy and I know you guys are going to flip over the adorable stuff in this shop. From pin-up girl cupcake toppers to handmade bags. Everything is super cute and super affordable. I'm pretty much obsessed with The Peach and I check out what's new on a daily basis. I want to throw a retro prom party and I know JUST the place to get that muscle man cake topper I have been looking for!

Any Old Day

I am seriously anti-Valentine's Day. I think that a sweet gift or a nice dinner means so much more when it's given on a day that is not regulated by the greeting card and boxed chocolate industries (does anyone even know who St. Valentine is anymore?). So just in case you were wondering what you could get me on any old day that is not February 14th here are a few ideas:

Tiny Heart Ring $15

Scrabble Love Pillows $98

Romance Romance Romance T-Shirt $25

A bouquet of ranunculus
