44.

I've been feelin' kind of down the past couple of days so instead of the normal weekly round-up I was inspired by Katrina's post at Small Souvenirs to post a few of my favorite things.

I also heard an interview on the radio this morning that kinda stuck with me. The person was talking about life being too short to do something you hate and that if you don't love what you do everyday than it's not even worth it. I love blogging and collecting pictures and being inspired and making stuff. But, unfortunately, it's not my job. My job is something that I liked three years ago but has started making me feel drained and uninspired. I think it's almost time to look to the next step and next adventure. Any suggestions?

  1. That picture is so cute.

I'm sorry you're having such a dreadful day, it sounds like. And doing something you don't love doesn't help. I can't really suggest anything but I think you should do something artsy or that involves creativity to the pulp. It seems to be you.

Also, I took a look at your picture blog project and it was so cute! Adding definitions to the days made it even better. I just don't think I'd have the strength to do that for 365 days.

    Hope things get better.

  2. I feel you. I am a teacher and I hate my job right now. I love my kids and I love what I do but I hate all of the politics and everything that goes with it. I don't even want to finish the year. Bosses breathing down your neck about scores from eight year olds. Geez they're only eight. Let them be kids. sigh. I wish I could get paid for blogging.

  3. I'm sorry to hear that you have been down. One simple solution (that is much easier said than done) is to look for the good in your day. I hope that doesn't sound silly, but sometimes it works for me :)

On another note, I really love the picture in this post and also reading the things that make your day worth it :)

  4. Thank you so much for your sweet comments. Ashley, I don't think that's silly at all. I think that is a fabulous solution! :)

  5. The picture is beautiful.

I understand the uninspired feeling. I woke up this morning and thought if I died today, I wouldn't be satisfied.

I recommend making a list of all the things you love doing and then researching careers that involved those things.

  6. Between work, kids, elderly parents, laundry, bills and grocery shopping... it was lovely to look at all of your 'inspirational' links. Made me think again about what I really love to do and try to figure out how to fit it in my day.
