Wild at Heart: Spike Jonze and Pamela Love

Gah! Not only can I not wait for Where the Wild Things Are but now I'm giddy over the jewelry designer Pamela Love designed in collaboration with director Spike Jonze!

Weekend! An actual weekend! Without work! Well, paid work anyway. Nah, I'll just be unpacking in 100 degree weather. Woopee!

Gilt Fuse

Gilt was my favorite place to go for fancy things I still couldn't afford even though they're marked down, like, over 70%. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better they came up with Gilt Fuse! A shop that I can't afford just a little less! Captain says I can splurge on this cardigan (too bad only size large is left) and dress by Mara Hoffman since things have been so crappy lately. Thanks babe!*

PS: If you need an invite let me know. ;)
*I typically don't ask before I spend my own money on things that I want but since all of our funds right now should be dedicated to this housing situation then I thought I would ask. I would be a little peeved if he splurged on $300 worth of records when we don't even have a bed.

Kill Pussycat

Loving these badass chicks circa 1965. I wish I could just let go and rock out this weekend instead of wade through boxes.

Head Above Water

Hi there. I miss you and I think about you every day. I hope the time we've spent apart has just brought us closer together. Good times will be had again, I promise!

Update on the flood - we had to move out. The reconstruction went from 3-4 days to 5-6 weeks! And we just couldn't keep being a burden on our (awesome, incredible, generous, amazing) friends for that long. So we found a new place and, although I thought I had learned my lesson about gathering too much stuff from the last catastrophe, I'm excited about decorating a new home.

BUT this time I have a whole new philosphy! When Captain and I first moved in together I felt like we just bought a bunch of (cheap) stuff to fill up our apartment so it felt more like a home. But really we just ended up with a bunch of junk that wasn't really us and wasn't very sustainable or practical. This time around we're going to just get what we really NEED and if we WANT something we're going to make sure it is of good quality even if that means we have to save up for it. This could mean we'll be sitting on the floor in half-finished rooms for a little while. No more Target and IKEA junk for us (OK just a little bit of IKEA junk).

It Might be Awhile

Just a little update -

So on top of my crazy work schedule I came home last Tuesday to my entire house flooded. We had to move everything out of the house so that the owner could replace every floor. Then they found asbestos. So it might be awhile until I'm back home and my things are out of boxes. On top of that my laptop cord was floating in the swimming pool that was my house so that is out of commission as well. Sorry, loves. I hope to be back soon! I miss you! xoxo.

PS: I need new furniture if anyone knows about any good deals right now! :)

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's not good when my Friday posts are back to back. This is my crazy month and I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to post regularly again (is there a pill for that?).
  • um. some of us have been doing this since middle school.
  • crazy, knitted, dino spine!
  • Love for my favorite SD shop! Welcome, Oh Joy!
